I think it does look like Lamium.

Yes rouge Lamium galeobdolon - yellow Archangel is horribly aggressive. I have eradicated it from my garden but it got into the forest so I will be after it there too. A close well behaved relative I am very fond of is Lamium galeobdolon 'Herman's Pride'.

How "well behaved" Hermann's Pride maybe depends entirely on location. It spreads almost as vigorously in my climate as does the species.

Just a word of caution :-))

I had 'Herman's Pride' at several spots in my former garden and it always remained a well behaved clump. Here in my new garden in heavy clay, it's barely hanging on.
