I had a drawer and door front on my DW and the backs of the drawer and door were routed out on the back to insert a piece of wood so the two components could be made into a single piece without making it thicker than the adjacent cabinets. It had an edge pull on it.

The problem I found was that the DW was very hard to get open with just an edge pull on the door portion and I ended up putting a larger handle on the drawer front.
