Have you checked in other stores for the size cabinets you need? We got 15’ depth cabinets at for our mudroom at Menard’s and they are good quality/lasting.

I know people who have had IKEA cabinets in their kitchen for 20 years and they still look great. For the money, they are a good value. If you want to jazz them up a bit, you can work with Semihandmade to get alternate door/drawer fronts that fit IKEA cabinets for a more custom look.

I have had IKEA cabinets since 2010 and love them, however, I selected white cabinets and the finished yellowed within the first 5 years of having the cabinets. This is the only consistent complaint I see about IKEA cabinets.

My current home and previous two had idea kitchens, as did my office etc. Great value for money and they hold up well. The yellowing problem I have not seen in the new kitchen line (definitely saw it in the old one).

We used them in a rental (that we lived in first) in 2016. From 2017 until now, there have been renters who were not careful and were also rather messy using the kitchen. The cabinets look as good as they did when we installed them in 2016. I was just in there cleaning between tenants a few months ago and was pleased with how well they have held up. The only issue was in the laundry room where someone's dog ate part of an end panel, but that was easily replaced.

I also used Ikea in my basement - installed in 2019. They have held up very well. I would absolutely recommend them and use them again. They have a 25 year warranty, which is better than most other cabinets in the U.S., especially at their price point.

Both sets were white and I haven't noticed any yellowing on either set. Ours are Sektion, which is the newer line mentioned by Hallett, so maybe that's why. Sabrina is right - if the stock doors don't suit you, check with Semihandmade (and other cabinetmakers) who make custom doors/end panels, etc. to work with Ikea.

I understand your husband's concern. Many things I will never buy from Ikea, but their cabinets are a different story. They have a great reputation. I have only ever heard great things about Ikea cabinets. When we went house hunting, I saw two kitchens with Ikea cabinets and the kitchens had not been redone in a very long time. The cabinets were in excellent shape. I wanted to use them in .my recent laundry room update but the room is oddly configured so disappointingly they were not a good fit. You can find installers so you don't have to make them yourself, and as Sabrina said, Semihand made can give you the look you want.

Just google high end kitchens with Ikea cabinets and you can read a lot of high end designers praising them and installing them in kitchens with huge budgets.

IKEA cabinets are quite decent, espeically for the price. They also come with some nice hardware and features that are hard to find elsewhere, such as their rotate/slide/pull lower corner cabinet device. When a client wants to go with IKEA, I typically steer them towards a custom drawer and door face fabricator such as Modern Twigg, who makes the "pretty parts" for IKEA cabinets, which fit perfectly. It's a nice, cost effective way to upgrade at very little cost.

I have been using Ikea cabinets in my kitchen design jobs for more tan 22+ yrs. I have one client that had 5 kids at home when we did their kitchen with mid range Ikea cabinets that kitchen is now more than 20 yrs old and they are now just thinking of downsizing and the realto was toatll impressed with the kitchen and how good it still looked. I have had thrm in my last 2 homes I run a catering biz from both of them the one in this pic is 16yrs .Not one single issue with anything . IMO the best bang for your buck.The pic was taked last August put in in 2007
