You do a built up miter. $$$$ on an already expensive and fragile choice. No one should put in a standard radiant range. If you have electric as your fuel source, you should be doing induction. You are making choices that cost you money and issues here. Work with a good Kitchen Designer.

We are working with a kitchen designer and this range is an induction. The designer is the one who noted the discrepancy between the counter height and the range height. But thanks anyway, @DeWayne!

FWIW, this particular counter *cannot* be made any thicker, so does that change anything? The max thickness it is available is 2cm.

@Hannah I am going to offer a few solutions. One would be the aforementioned mitering the counters - to translate, and regardless that your counter material is 2cm, "mitering" means two pieces of the counter material are cut at a 45 degree angle and then joined together on all visible sides of the counter to make a thicker counter. This will be expensive, and needs a highly skilled top-notch fabricator.

Another solution would be to find a different induction range that has leveling feet that can go lower than the Bosch.

Finally, I am linking below a thread which contains a solution offered by a frequent contributor on this forum, @Joseph Corlett, LLC. He discusses inverting the range's levelling feet, than grinding down the "cap" of the feet to make the range lower. It's a long thread, but just look for Joseph Corlett comments, which includes explanatory photos if you keep scrolling down.

No one does 2CM counters without building up the edge. Some people do big buildups, so it looks really thick and chunky.

You don't specify which brand of porcelain you're going with so we don't know if it's through-body or not. The pattern goes all the way through some porcelains, eliminating the need for mitering and eliminating the edge profiling problem.

Starcraft's last paragraph is the best solution, no matter the material.

Tell us about your cabinets -- a picture or two would help.

You could elevate the cabinets under the toe kicks by 1/4 or 1/2 if you don't want the built up top.

Dekton is what we had picked, not color body.,but mostly white. I'm not really bothered by the edge not having the color run through.

No pictures or cabinets since we haven't done anything yet--this came up pre-contract, so we have the time to change anything and everything if we really wanted to. (I don't really want to, but we can.) The cabinet brand is Showplace Evo.

Since you are discovering this now (yay!!!) either build up under the cabinets or under the counters. Under the cabinets probably easier to conceal.

TBH, I would just not get the Dekton porcelain counters. There are so many other counter materials that don't make you go through these hassles! Kitchen reno is stressful enough, and fraught with potential for problems - why add this issue of non-standard counter height to it.

The other option of course is to use a different range. Bosch is just about the only one left with the overlapping top. (It's a nice feature, though.)
