Usually wall color is the last choice to make . Is all the stuff staying in the space ? Now you need IMO to find a floor with a bit of the gray in it or go white or very light wood look. Wahile you are doing this change please a proper layout for TV watching should bve on the list. As for gary i happen to love gray and rarely do I care what is is in only what I like but i agree if you choose the floor you love painting the walls is easy.

Bring home several sample boards so you can see the floor color in your light. Showroom light is rarely the same as what you have at home. I suggest going to a real flooring store instead of a big box store. You will get a lot more informed assistance there. Also, as Patricia said, usually wall color is chosen last. It would be the least expensive surface to redo and the one with the most options. So be prepared to repaint if the flooring you like doesn't go with the paint. The paint doesn't look like the best complement with your sofas anyway, and it's a little dreary for a basement. I don't think anyone is going to recommend gray flooring since the gray ship sailed a couple years ago. If you like gray anyway, regardless of trends, something warmer, lighter and less purple could work. Or maybe the beige carpet is making the wall color look purple. :-)

Unfortunately all the furniture is staying for right now but I’m open to repainting for sure right now. I don’t k penny but the lighting makes the walls look purple- you are 100 right.
