HELP! Ring of RUST on kitchen sink hole!

Moms unhappy! To be clear I don’t want to simply clean or scrub it out. I’d like to find adequate use for it please! If that’s not possible then yes a cover that is secured is very much appreciated!!

ELKAY stainless steel, drop in, single kitchen sink

I looked up the use of this additional hole but I’ve found numerous uses. Primarily to attach a second faucet or for soap.

Are the holes a standard size and therefore I can use it for soap? Seeing as that our primary faucet already detaches for convenience.

Get yourself a soap dispenser. There are many styles out there. They are simple to install. Mine came with my faucet but they sell them separately.

Here is an example of one. Find one that is similar in style and finish to your faucet:

If you plan to use it for dishsoap then also get yourself the Never MT. We have one on both our cleanup sink and prep sink. It keeps you from having to fill the little bottle that comes with the soap dispenser.

Yup, soap dispenser goes there ... many faucets have a matching one as part of their same collection.

And yes they are standard sized. I love soap dispensers, but there are also RO filters, hot water dispensers, chilled water dispensers…

That is where the air gap for the dishwasher goes on mine. Bar Keeper's Friend will take the rust off.

I see vinmarks beat me to it - came here to recommend the Never MT to complement any soap dispenser you decide to buy. Best ≈$20 I’ve spent in a while.

I had a Never MT and it just would not hold a prime. I finally gave up.

If your undersink cabinet gets as chaotic as mine, stick with the bottle the soap dispenser comes with. :)

The cover is probably what is rusting. You CAN get a new one and it will stay put if installed correctly. I like the soap dispenser option better, though.

I've had Never MT in previous house and never had issues. Worked great. I currently have 2 in current house and again never had issues.

My under cabinet is a bit chaotic and the bottle of Dawn for the Never MT sits in the back right corner. It is not a problem. I buy the big bottles at Costco but the Never MT has different cap sizes so works with various size bottles.

The sink isn't rusting; it's probably the cap. A soap dispenser won't rust.

@Foodonastump & Vibmarks thank you for the recommendation! I will be getting the Never MT. However, which specific dispenser do you have?? I ask because SOME of the reviews on Amazon for Never MT mentioned dispensers that pump the soap easily and others said their dispenser sucks and needs to be replaced to maximize the benefit of NEVER MT. I see the issue may arise and want to eliminate any possibility! So I’ll just get what you guys have good experiences with! I too get the massive dawn soap from Costco like Vibmark.

No. My soap pump came with my faucet. My faucet is Delta so the soap pump is also Delta. I used Never MT in my previous house and that soap pump was Delta as well. Never had any issues using them with the NeverMT.
