I like your room the way it is.

Do not paint the entire room in plum color.

Plum is a deep and rich color, and using it on all walls may create a visually heavy and overpowering effect. This can make the room feel smaller and more enclosed.

I agree, it‘s a very nice room, as is.

For more drama, you could bring in the plum on the curtains. You could use similar to your accent wall color, or go deeper in the color.

I used a paint visualizer, and could only do one side (or the visualizer went wild and painted the whole room). But it’s good - because you can compare. You see the difference.

And you could also add a pillow on the chair or bed that has some of the plum.

If you really like the bedding, then plump up the pillows, fold the duvet into thirds and place it at the foot of the bed. Perhaps get a plum-colored blanket and an accent pillow.

Personally I think that really good quality bedding makes a world of difference to the way a bedroom looks, and also how it feels. After all you spend 1/3 of your life in bed, so why not get the absolute best bedding you can afford?

Heck yeah paint all four walls. It will not make the room look smaller, in fact, it will make it look biggers. Accent walls make a room look half finished. Don’t doubt your choices, you have a great rug, nice artwork and lamps. Don’t crowd the space with a load of purple accents. Just committ to all four walls. It may even make the gold chair really pop and seem more purposeful.

Paint all 4 walls a lighter version of the plum color you have now as Jan has recommended. Its the ”accent wall” that makes the room look unfinished and dated.

Pretty plum color … what is it exactly? I’d like to look for rooms done in it (all walls).

I am not crazy about the patterned neutral carpet - would do something with less movement.

Add some gold touches so the chair relates to the room, paint the rest of the room.

I think you need to reinforce the plum color in the artwork. Select something for above the bed.

I think the room would look nice all in plum. I think you'd need to consider changing some of the accessories to make it pop! It's difficult to judge the exact colours from your photos but it looks like the plum paint seems to coordinate with your bedspread it's the grey that make it look too blah as you say. I try to work with what you already have in the room but suggest you paint the entire room in plum, replace the headboard with a higher one in either an off-white of light beige, use neutral accent pillows, replace the curtains for plum ones, the chair to an off-white or light beige, and find art in coordinating colours. Before you paint the entire room, you can simply try replacing all the mentioned accessories to see the difference but all plum would make a statement. All the lighter colours will make the plum stand out.
