Looking for bright, cheerful kitchen ideas
I am getting close to completing all the layout design and construction prep for a very small kitchen to go in a very small attached apartment at our house.
I thought I had the 'look' planned out but I'm having second thoughts. And the more kitchen pictures I look at the more they all start to look the same!
I do not want white or wood. I'd like to be a little adventurous with this kitchen since it's tiny and an 'extra' space. I want it to have some color. The main house is newer but cottage-like and the apartment will have a vintage feel. But I'm not looking for 'shabby chic' at all.
I'll put a few pictures that are cheery, but aren't quite what I want somehow. But now I'm really open to anything. If anyone has any ideas or pictures you've kept because you love them--even if or especially if they'd be 'too much' in a full kitchen of a main house-- I would love to see them!

2 years agoI love color so these are some that I've saved as inspiration. I know you said no white or wood cabinets but I like how they added color in other ways in the ones that have those.

yellow coincides with vintage.....give it a wash in all yellow if its truly small..youd have a nice choice of butcher block or soapstone counters or plain white counters in any material . Not sure what you have to " play " with .....details that is...lighting hardware floor etc. .I guess if its all new you can pick out details of your choosing....thats where the emphasis goes ..stick to one simple cabinet color.

Since your kitchen is small, I think you'll have to factor-in a lot of accessories into the mix to get the colorful look you're after.
