My sister's quilt in progress - TOP FINISHED

I started working on a quilt for my sister's new home on the island of Bequia in St. Vincent and the Grenadines, a country of islands in the Caribbean. I saw a photo on-line that the poster called "Churn, Churn, Churn," but I couldn't find any information on it. It was easy to copy, so I am. It will be a queen size when finished with 56 blocks. 18 done and 38 to go. Here are the first 16. I will use other batiks that will tie the light and dark ones together better. I love the big Churn Dash pattern that the four blocks combine to make in the turquoise fabric.

Don'tcha just love to be able to look at a photo and figure out how to recreate it all by yourself?!?

I saw the post title and thought Dang not only is Lois a great quilter but her sister is too.

Here it is. It finished at 84"x96", an oversized queen. I'll take it home in April and quilt it. I hope she loves it.

That's such a bummer, Char. They close the restaurant for the off-season on about April 15 and head back to Connecticut for the summer. I beieve it's on Princess Margaret Bay, and its name is The Porthole. So sorry you will miss them. They were looking forward to meeting you. They are avid sailors too.

Aww, that's a drag. We were delayed with our transmission problem for over a month in Panama City. We should have been down there before April 15th. I was looking forward to meeting them as well. When do they return. We will be staying south for quite a while.
