I would balance out that space by filling it with built in cabinets. In the cabinets display books and decorative items

the wavy application would look great, I would do it in Black.

the TV would disapear, not to mention it's easy on the eyes for TV viewing.

on the side, a tall Armoire like piece, an antique? Natural wood to soften the look.

Do you already know all of the specs on your wavy wall material? The reason I ask, is that I saw this behind the reception desk at a hotel that we stayed at recently, and the material they had was plastic rather than ceramic.

how are you setting your furniture? sofa w/back to windows, I'd put TV on large, blank wall and do some nice art above the fireplace.

or, since you're doing a tile on your fireplace, no art. set up something like this (but in reverse)

I like the tv on the right so you can make the fireplace the “centerpiece” of the room. I like your wavy idea.

Do you think you can really place PVC around a fireplace and not expect the heat to affect it?

I’d do tv on the side. You have some beautiful transitional architecture in that room. Are you sure the wavy tile compliments it? I think it’s going to look too modern and therefore inconsistent. Just my opinion, obviously.

there are also wavy porcelain tiles, or these metallica lux tiles. Those are actually what i used for my fireplace in black. They do come in a white as well, but couldn’t find pic of them installed on fireplace

Put the TV on the side if you want the fireplace to be the focus. Last thing you want to do is slap a Big TV over the texture, No artwork either. Also, your neck will thank you for not having to tilt your head up to watch TV. TV area should be open floating shelves… matching floor finish. Are you taking texture around to the sides or only the face!

It's a great look indeed, but make sure you know the specifics of what is meant by "fire resistant" for this product. Fire resistant building materials can mean that it simply slows a fire, not prevent it from bursting into flames. Fire resistant products are rated for how long it will slow a fire. It also might melt from heat which should be implied by its heat resistance and never burst into flames. If you personally know people who have used it in a fire place application, compare the type of fireplace you are installing to what they have. I have a ribbon gas fireplace and the venting gets very hot. The heat ratings and fire resistance ratings for materials to cover the venting were very specific. A ceramic tile like this would be both heat and fire resistant depending on the type of mortar/grout used.
