I need to replace the beautiful 15-year-old engineered walnut wood floor in my master, after it got badly damage by a severe flooding. I have travertine in the common areas, porcelain in the bathrooms and wood in the bedrooms. I can’t decide what to choose: stay with the engineered wood glued over concrete, that I loved despite its scratching, color fading, and minor termite damage, or go with something more durable like porcelain wood-like planks or even ….I cringe just thinking about it…..high-end vinyl, like Coretec. I keep reading the pros and cons of each. I obviously prefer the feel of the wood under my feet. I also prefer porcelain over vinyl because it’s a more natural product. Will a vinyl flor damage the resale value of the house? Are the porcelain wood like tiles too weird for a bedroom? Suggestions?
