The modern term seems to be "dual-fuel," wherein the cooktop is gas and the oven is electric. Perhaps vice versa also exists. I am not aware of any gas heated glass cooktops, if that is what you meant, so I can't comment on replacements.

Otherwise, one can get an induction cooktop and have the easiest of all cleaning, even while cooking. The oven can be gas or electric. Review induction cooktop related threads here, and visit "The Induction Site."

I think she’s referring to the brief period where you could get a glass cooktop where the burners rest on a glass plate Instead of stainless steel. To the op, if you think that’s easy to clean, wait until you swap out to induction.

I am sure induction is great but I like cooking with gas on the stovetop.

No recommendations, but I empathize with the OP. I have a 22 year old GE profile gas on glass range which I adore but was considering changing it out for stainless, but did not want a stainless top. It appears that's not going to happen at this point in time.

I do not like gas, but I also do not like induction. So yes, it is personal.
