If you want a versatile multi-function oven, I highly recommend the Miele Convection/Steam ovens.

Usually MWs do not work for warming plates I would never do a MW drawer in a small kitchen IMO the storage you lose is not worth it. If you post your kitchen here in a to scale floor plan you will get better info . What do use your MW for now ? IMO get a range with2 ovens if you think you will need to use the MW as an oven. I like a MW on my counter when it dies I get another does not matter how it fits since not built in. BTW this is why no steam oven below counters

Note that steam vents between the door and the control panel, so it may be uncomfortable to stand next to the CSO if installed below a counter. Standard Cooktop clearance is 1/4". Controls are designed to be read at eye level, which may make an undercounter installation inconvenient.

thanks for all the suggestions. leaning toward just a basic microwave now but I like the sleekness of a drawer.

There was nothing "uncomfortable" when standing next to my under counter mounted CSO in my previous house. Sure, when you open the door heat/steam escape out, but that is no different than any regular oven. Don't stick your face in any of them when you first open the door of a hot oven or CSO ... just common sense.

Sharp convection microwave drawers are very expensive, underpowered, and unreliable. Not worth it
