Help Choosing Flooring!!

Hello,

I am having a hard time choosing flooring for my living/ dining room. I've gotten a few samples seen in photo however I'm having a hard time imagining it throughout the whole room. Any advice or ideas to make this easier? Thank you!

have you tried the room visualizer from the manufacturer?

One of the manufacturers has this, the others do not

Some flooring retailers have the Visualizer. Download your room photo and apply the flooring.

It's the best way to see the effect of your choice.

The other option is to buy a box of flooring and lay it out in your room to check for color.

You're kind of going from one extreme to another, aren't you.

You mean from the dark to light flooring? The dark was there when we moved in, it's a cherry red that I don't love and it scratched over the holidays. Looks like we need new floors

You really need to buy a whole box of the stuff, as Beverly says, for several reasons. You need to see the larger sq ftg area so you can visualize it better, dragging it around your house so you can see it up against your furniture, walls, cabinets, etc, to make sure the tone of it suits what you have and the look you're going for.

Additionally, some store samples may be old, faded, etc, and you want a better idea of the actual shade of color of flooring. (Though even a box might not perfectly match when you order your whole flooring order, due to dye lots, etc.)

Finally, sometimes you see variation in the samples (tho I don't see that in your samples), that can look "stripey" when you see it in a whole room.

we are having a hard time imagining it in your room because you haven't shown us the room. You're taking up all of the dark wood and replacing it ?

    Is this an LVP?

    what's the furniture?

    color of the walls?

the 3 you've chosen are so close, I don't think it makes much diff. the one on the right has more taupe to it, otherwise, any of them are nice (if they come in 6' lengths. don't do all short planks)

is this the look you like?

    coastlan nordic flooring

    Coretec Grande-

Malibu Click and Lock. for the price, this is a really nice choice. (home Depot)

Have you looked for a description of what will be in the box? How many planks which will differ in pattern? You can't judge by one or two planks.

Can you tell us what they are?

My preference is long wide planks.

Can you have them sanded and refinished to something lighter? Agree with others that buying a whole box of your favorite option and laying it out in your space is the right thing to do before replacing what's there.
