I like what you have assembled,. It's skillfully assembled. IMO the lamps/shades seem too detailed for the room. I think the light they give off is more important than the lamps themselves.

I’m drawn to certain English styles, too, and adore beautiful lampshades. I don’t think patterned and/or colorful lampshades would be too busy in your room at all.

Please keep in mind this board can be pattern and color phobic, and generally leans modern and minimal. I hope you’ll stay true to what you love in your house. You have a great sense of style.

Thats exactly the kinds of rooms I have been pinning! The pleated patterned shades make me drool lol. I need to find a way to add one somewhere. Those rooms also seem to have ao many lamps and prints. DH will prob start twitching though 😂

Color and pattern are coming back. All the manufacturers/designers in the home design industry have to be able to keep making money and the only way is to keep telling people their homes are dated and they need to spend money and embrace the next trend!

I think your lamps are under scaled for the room, but you might need slightly larger side tables.

I don't think I would add sconces, as I prefer to have the space for art, etc.

Yes! so glad pattterns are back ’in’. I tried the gray trend a few years ago and I just couldnt ever love it!

Love this style - curated, collected and cozy for sure, I think Etsy is great source for lampshades (lots of lovely pleated ones on there) -

for dining room fixture, agree with @jilly to look at British interiors and the you can use the Google lens feature to search items you see in photos

Thanks @la_la Girl - sooooo many beautiful ideas there!! If I was brave, I might try little pleated shades on a linear chandelier like this. But 100% my DH will not agree to that :) It might have to stay white.

I don't have a suggestion re lighting, although I'm not sure I see why you want the sconce there?

salonva- its a north facing room with no built in lighting. Also my rooms I like seem to have sconces 😂

Another lighting option I am trying out is uplighting in the corners. The sconces seem like a sepetate element in my room instead of being part of the ’vignette’ hence the question for experts.
