Sorry, I don’t know much about Miele fridges, so see what feedback you might get here. I can tell you there are negative reviews for just about every brand you research, no matter what appliance you need. The love/hate thing can be all over the place...and confusing! I know Bosch dishwashers get pretty good feedback here, but that could differ from their fridges. One thing I’ve found to be accurate is, for example, one brand’s dishwashers can often function better than their fridge….and vice versa. Also, I’ve learned to shop for features that fit my needs best vs any particular brand. That is, unless every single review you see is negative. I’ve yet to see that since, again, there’s 👍🏻 and 👎🏻 for everything I’ve personally researched.

The least risky option in this category of refrigeration is still subzero. This brand is at the top of reputations for good customer service, (not that there are many left today ) and they are known to keep parts in production for a long time. Subzero is a lot more careful than many brands when it comes to their supply chain and along with their high level of popularity, this is why they still continue to have back ordering on new units. if it were my kitchen, I would purchase something that would fit in the space where your new counter depth or integrated model is going to go and use that while waiting on your subzero order to come in. Once you are new unit is ready, you can always keep the basic fridge that you purchased as a temporary solution or you could sell it. Miele is known for some solid products as well and they used to have a reputation for high-level customer service, but many threads on this forum suggest that Miele customer service is not what it was in the past.

High-quality customer service is not cheap to run and many companies are always tempted to cut corners in that area and take more of the profits and worry about future sales later. Subzero also offers a remarkable array of choices, options and models and I suspect they have more options than any other appliance producer for residential refrigeration.

I would’ve mentioned SubZero, but since the OP is looking at counter depth fridges, I figured SZ would be more than they’d want to spend.

Over the past 34 years, SZ fridges are all I’ve had, in the two homes we’ve owned. The first SZ was still going strong at 26 years old, when we sold the first house in 2015. We found SZ customer service to be beyond excellent. We put a 42” FD SZ in the home we moved to. Wouldn’t consider a different brand. It’s now 8yo…no issues.

You might consider the Dacor DRF365300AP which performed well in CR's tests. If you read the reviews at Best Buy you see that the negative reviews had nothing to do with the appliance. Also at AppliancesConnection. Be sure to read the installation instructions for these things; by comparison note how easy it is to install a free-standing refrigerator.

I love my Bosch fridge. No issues with peeling and it makes sooo much ice! The freezer holds a lot and no issues with temperature distribution.

Miele Mastercool is made in Germany. The lower level models are made in Tirkey. Mastercool money is in the SZ neighborhood. Go with SZ.

my Amana fridge is 15 yrs old. I browse the best local owned Appliance store every few months to prepare myself when I need to replace. Last visit I noted they are still showing Fisher Paykel/ they like GE CAFE line and I really liked the newer KitchenAid. I think F- Paykel is counter depth. I might opt for a Liebherr when the time comes tho......that Euro style of going taller allows a narrower footprint. Even Frigidaire has recently come up with a similar version..
