Low e 366 on all windows?

We are replacing all the windows in our home. The front of the house faces north and none of those windows ever get direct sun. The important factors for the new windows are energy efficiency and sound reduction (a “must have” in master bedroom, faces south). I am also concerned the amount of light entering the home will be reduced (I prefer more natural light as it is). The house was built in 2001 and we still have the original windows. I live in the DFW area so there’s that weather.

Pretty decently split climate (on HDD vs. CDD) in DFW. If you are worried about light and felt impact of the glazing schedule....I would opt for a 2 coat Low-e here vs. a 3 coat.

What are you replacing? STC is a separate question that will have to be answered by the product you decide on and their options in that space. Whether laminate glass of offset glazing.

Thank you for the input. I think we will stay with the 3 coats and I’ll adjust. Friends who have the same have told me they haven’t noticed much of a difference. Fingers crossed

I would get samples of the glass. Shouldn't be a tough ask for your window contractor.
