Branches, yay. I discovered that the key is to cut tops off relatively new branches. (No new shown in photo above.) Photo below shows two newly emerged branches; branch on right may be a candidate for top cutting.

I have rooted J. m. cuttings, but do not remember whether any grew for long.

Go for cutting that has hard lower portion (hard of this equates to semi-hard of other plants). Lower portion solid, and thicker than pencil. It should have new leaves on tip.

i just picked up a seed pod: 1 seed seems viable. So will try to sprout it :).

In my experience with these seeds, their sprouting reliability is high, and they take less time to sprout than many other seeds take.
