what is this drywall bulge?

Hello!
We moved into our home two months ago and noticed this the last 3 days.

February is mating season for possums. Looks like some came through attic and building a nest inside wall. Better get them out before little ones are born or you'll never get them out.

You will have to repair it anyway, so best thing is to cut it open and look. Once you find out what it is, if its just a couple drywall screws, etc, you can tighten them, and fill with mud, and sand it and prime and repaint that area. If you have to make too big a hole, you may need to put drywall tape over it.
