Wall Decor Advice

last year

I am looking to spruce up this area of my living room. My style that I am aiming for is Organic Modern with pops of bold color. Does anyone have any suggestions on what kind of wall decor would look best?

We need to see the entire room. I don't see any bold color and not sure where it would fit in with the small part of the room showing.

We just moved in so we are getting things little by little. I eventually want to upgrade the mantle and I hate those wall sconces. I also need to get new pillows. There is a lot on the list.

Without knowing your wall width, this is just an example of having two pieces of art that are 25" square, what it could look like. Could do on the wall with two chairs or over the sofa.

The wall is 106in. Thank you for taking the time to do that, I like your suggestion should I stick to 25”?

I suggest you collect some branches from small trees, clean them off, then spray paint them and mount them on that wall. A variety of shapes and sizes and one or two large ones in the center. I've done this and it looks great.

For art I would suggest square size somewhere between 25-35 inches. Similar width if you find something vertical rectangle. You can use painters tape to mockup size on the wall to see what looks best to you.

Thank you for adding the pictures. Until you get the furniture placement set I would not be worrying about art/decor. I think the sectional needs to be moved forward some so it doesn't look squished against the wall. The chair placement makes it awkward to watch the TV if sitiing in them. I'm wondering if moving the TV (which is kind of large for over that FP) to wall where the chairs are now and flipping the sectional to face might work??

Why did you put the TV above the FP you have walls either one which would have been better and also would have filled a wall with no need for anything else there .Add a mantel the the mantel could then have some decor you love. I do not think tree branches are an ideal choice. for wall art but IMO art is chosen because you love it not for any othe reason. I would start with a new rug if you want some color . The chairs need to be on the rug at least the front legs to make the chairs part of the space .

Looks like a perfect place for a very large, bold and dramatic piece of wall art.

There was a mount there when we moved in, and we felt it was the only place to put the tv. The couch only fits on that side where it is pictured. Yes I would love to work on a mantle as my next project and maybe do something fun with the fireplace I hate the pieces around it. I decided to put chairs on that wall because I wanted to max the seating area. We have a lot of family that comes over. Thank you for your feedback

TURN THE RUG so that it runs in the direction of the room.

wonder if there wasn't a better location for the TV screen

You need to add a floor plan with dimensions for walls, openings, doors and windows if you want to get the best suggestions. The large TV will never look right sitting over the smaller fireplace.

@BeverlyFLADeziner thank you so much for taking the time to outline those floor plans. I am work 12hr shifts these next 3 days but I will try those this weekend. Thank you

We might suggest adding a plant, patterned pillows, and some artwork. A few ideas from our designs are included here.
