• Allow 1" minimum clearance at rear for proper air circulation and water/electrical connections.
• Keep ventilation openings, in the appliance enclosure or in the built-in structure, clear of obstruction.

So the fridge panels are larger than the ones in the cabinet above to cover the gaps for the appliance? That is still not allowing for the proper clearance necessary for the refrigerator.

@caroline - Where does the fridge vent? There is MORE than enough room for ventilation. Time will tell I suppose. I guess disregard my post. By all means I’m simply sharing options that many would like to have.

How does warm air circulate from the back of the refrigerator into the room when the cabinet doors are closed?

This looks cool, did you attach the cabinet doors to the fridge using those slider hinges from hafele?

Similar actually. There's a lot involved to making this work due to the hinge point of the doors. I made sure the cabinet was large enough on all sides and top. There's no buildup of heat due to the way I have it designed despite the amazing feedback received from this group thus far. Appreciate your comment sir. Much appreciated.

How did you attach the dishwasher panel? Silicon glue?

@Joseph - No sir. I removed the face/cover of the dishwasher and top controls. Removed attached ribbon cables, placed it on top of the panel and used 5/8 screws through the stainless panel into the cabinet panel. The appliance handle was attached first of course. It's stout. It does add some weight to the door as the hinges were not designed for it, but it works phenomenally well. Thanks for asking and being supportive of my first post here. I'm not trying to sell anyone anything. Just letting folks know that things are still possible even if its not an off the shelf, or out of a box solution.

And that's exactly what this is about. A panel ready fridge is absolutely ridiculous in price. I can buy 6 of these for the cost of a panel ready that's not as big.

Yeah, some of the Samsung models are 29-30 cu ft for full depth which is the size of a 48 inch subzero. Add an ethylene scrubber pouch (which you can buy on Amazon as blue plastic apples) and you’ve got a lot of the function/size for lower cost

I personally would not consider this a "high end look". It looks nice, but it's just not the same as a seamless integrated look. Which is to be expected as you cannot achieve that with cabinets that are not full overlay. The microwave cabinet with the hinged door came out great. I do not like that the fridge doesn't have the proper clearance (and do not get me started on Samsung anything) and you had to make larger refrigerator panels that don't line up with the cabinet above. I particularly do not like the dishwasher panel and the gaps on either side.

@Caroline - You are a blast at parties and particular ray of sunshine that lights up any room you walk into eh? Personally, I don't care what you do/do not consider a "high end look". A seamless integrated look? Not everyone either a) has 10-20k for a panel ready fridge, b) would spend that much on said appliance c) needs such an appliance. d) asked for any opinions or feedback on what I was able to do while MINIMIZING costs. I'm so very sorry us southern boys do quite a bit more with our hands and what's between our ears than that of our northern brethren that would rather do with their wallet. In my last reply to you, allow me to answer some of the things you addressed above.

Hear me out. This fridge/freezer is a . . .wait for it. . .side by side. . .I'm pretty sure I said that previously, but I digress. The reason this is important to make sure you understand is two fold. The fridge side is WIDER than the FREEZER side. With my discount, this fridge set me back a whopping $1200 delivered, new. Am I a fan of Samsung appliances, no. Is this what my wife "wanted" yes. Do I care, well actually yes. Here's why. The side by side was the requirement because the water/ice is completely separate between the sides. We wanted the pitcher and dispenser for water that this offers in the fridge side, and were perfectly content with MANUALLY using a scooper to fetch ice from the freezer side as needed. You see, my wife's design was about being minimalist. All of that to say this, yes they are different size doors than the cabinet above. Do you know what's placed in the cabinet above at present? Nothing. Do you know why? Because I designed the entire layout with storage in mind. Again, us southerners have a little saying, it's better to have it and not need it, than to not have it and need it.

Yeah, it's the same. See that larger panel in the bottom and how it gets narrower just a tiny bit? Yeah, my idea as well. You see this amazingly quiet and effecient LG dishwasher we chose has hinges with a hinge point 7.5" from the very bottom. What's this mean exactly? We'll Virginia, it means that around 5" of that panel actually goes underneath it. This is to allow that function to happen.

Our house was featured by Architectural designs. I was actually really looking forward to sharing so much with this community on things you can DIY and save so much money, but your little ray of sunshine self along with some of your cronies completely drained me of any desire to share anything with people as rude and ugly as you. The entire point of this post HAD zero to do with wanting feedback, your approval, your validation, or even your snarky northern non-sense you seem to spew most places you comment/reply on. The purpose was to introduce my wife and I. Share with this awesome community how simple and easy it is to do things yourself, or at least while spending less to achieve a more expensive and classy look. I've already given you entirely too much of my valuable time, however I'll leave you with this. "He who increases knowledge, increases sorrow."

Love this! I plan on doing the same in our new build. We have the freezer drawers at the bottom so this should be interesting lol. How many inches on each side did you leave?

I know this is a year old, but honestly I cannot believe the crummy remarks! SO many people want to find a solution like this. I agree--this might not be the right forum for this kin d of ingenuity! Thank you for posting.

Hi! Would love to know how you achieved this so I can forward to my cabinet maker. I think it looks great for the price. I stupidly purchased a ”panel ready” Samsung refrigerator just to learn it is not truly panel ready.

It already died.
