Would staining/ painting it white help you think or just get rid of the slats?

I like the slats, but, I would want them stained to match the flooring as close as possible. Your kitchen looks very nice.

The slats accentuate how short the cabinets are. Makes the cabs look real stubby.

Darbuka so do you think black or white staining would help with that?

The slats are completely out of place and do not fit anything or match anything. Yes, you need warmth in the space. Unfortunately, you may get that when the quartz backsplash scorches brown.

Why don't you find an interior designer to help you pull this together and unify it.

Okay, it is an unexpected look, not something we often see here. That said, it's not horrible. I kind of like it’s uniqueness.

What was the reasoning behind this feature? How high is that wall?

It is 12’ high… reason is because I wanted to extend the quartz slab below, and the contractor tried several times, but was not able to match that slab 😣

Can you stain partially stain some of the slats so that you pick up the color in the floor? I don't know if you have ever sponge painted, but sponge painting incorporates soft smatterings of paint that are sponged on as heavily or as lightly as you desire. I'm thinking you could do that sort of thing with the slats, except it would be stain and done in a vertical pattern.
