Landscape Design Perennials Ornamental Grass

Looking for a source for plugs of Panicums

A friend has asked for my help in planting a large area to Panicums interspersed with a few Rudbeckia maxima. The area is large enough that only plugs for the grasses would be financially feasible. Does anyone know where I could get plugs of one of the Panicum cultivars--any one of the cultivars--rather than the straight species, though I think we'd go with that if there was no other option?

Yes, several nurseries I found sell plugs for the straight species, but Hoffman through Izel is the only I found that sells plugs of a cultivar.

It would appear that most OG plug vendors are wholesale only but here are a few retail vendors and at least one that offers wholesale by volume. Most offer just the straight species but a couple of cultivars can be found. HTH

When I've needed plug trays of perennials, I've used Santa Rosa Gardens. Unfortunately, they only list straight species in trays. Might be worth asking if they plan to stock any other varieties. They do sell Shenandoah in the 4.5" pots.

Izel seems to be a good broker and I can get a cultivar plugs through them at a reasonable price.

Prairie Moon sells seeds, but they also sell plants for P. virgatum
