First, we need to know if you have a masonry fireplace with a gas log, or a gas only fireplace. If it is a wood burning fireplace converted to gas, a non-combustible hearth will be required. If it is gas only, it may not require a hearth, but that depends on the make and model.

Whether or not the SPC flooring meets the requirements for a hearth, if a hearth is required is a different question. It must be considered non-combustible for it to meet code. It also must be installed directly on top of concrete. If it is not directly on concrete, we will need more info.
