Since it is not for us and we do not know your needs or site, what is your opinion?

I like it better than your previous post. I wonder if an L instead of a U kitchen would be better, it would allow for a table, more than one person in the kitchen, and more flexibility. Where would the dishwasher be in this plan?

Someone in an ADU might like easier access to the bathroom, and definitely a larger vanity.

The closet, I’m not sure about. I know I’m in a minority by preferring a reach-in closet, and the closet fittings are can change (not a U, make it galley) but this closet allows for only 2’ of standing room in the middle, meaning one’s face is only 1’ away from the clothes one is picking out.

Is it your intention to build a wheelchair accessible unit?

The bathroom is larger than the bedroom? It looks like the bath is for a wheelchair but the bedroom is barely enough for a person without handicaps

The walk in closet is too small to have hanging clothes on both sides. To have hanging on both sides you need 7’.

French doors into the living room mean you lose 3’ of useable space

It appears there is no dishwasher so put the sink next to the fridge and center the stove on the back wall so you’re not crossing zones and so the sink isnt practically in the corner.

I'd lose the peninsula so there is more room for entertaining. Maybe just transition the kitchen into the living room with a curve, like a two seat bar or even just a rounded bookcase facing the living area and put a lamp on it too. Let someone put their dining table right in the kitchen if they want to.

Agree the bathroom is huge. Also agree the kitchen takes up too much square footage. I like a peninsula kitchen, but this one has just a whole lot of counter space, which is great, but seems unnecessary, and more important: where's the pantry?

I would shorten the U shape kitchen so there's more room in the living/dining area.

Agree that I don't see the point of a "walk-in" closet that small. Reach-in provides more storage in less square footage, and you could go wall to wall with a reach-in.

This place really lacks storage, as far as I can see. Where does one keep the bathroom supplies in that large place? And why is the toilet in plain view from the bathroom door that opens to your entry/living area? I'd rather have the toilet tucked away and the shower or cabinets/sink in the view from the door.

In addition to the above it appears the refrigerator will not open anywhere near full as that wall will impede the door swing big time.

Definitely swap the toilet with the vanity… where there’s plenty of room to do dual sinks and add storage. Also, a pocket door to the walk in closet.

This looks so much better than you original design. Glad you eliminated the long entry hall.

I recall this is an aging in place space for your in-laws. Reducing fall risks is a priority. The path from bed to toilet is an obstacle. Find some way to get a door from the bedroom into the bathroom.

Make the kitchen counters an L instead of a U and put a decent sized table in the space between the kitchen and living room.

Consider sliding doors instead of French so you have more space.

    Or outswing doors.

To better use the bathroom space- Flip the closet and the shower. You'll only access the shower with the room door closed. Move the room entrance door up closer to the front plane of the recess it's in. Even with the bedroom wall works. Now you can reduce the width of the room without loss of function. That space can be added to the bedroom. If you prefer to keep the space in the bathroom, the toilet and vanity flip with double vanity will be easier.

I would drop the peninsula and set the living room to eat on the sectional/chaise using a large coffee table ottoman combination.

    The closet needs rethinking.
