Don't go for those creepy things just because of the color. There are lots of purple or black tomatoes out there that don't have screwed genes in them.

Interesting, thorough article that made me think of other solanum with dark purple fruits - like nightshade - and wonder why they weren't chosen. Doesn't seem that bad, IMO - snapdragons are not toxic to humans.

Not something I'll be growing tho. I can only grow VFFNTA+ hybrids here, and I think I'd prefer blueberries to tiny purple tomatoes anyway.

It does mention Indigo Rose, which I've seen in my catalogs, and which isn't as intense in color.

purple is old school lingo they are actually the pinks n get very dark in full sun **mindsmile

They are Black Krim ( Black Crimea) and they are delicious. They come from Russia so they have a short growing season. In Russia they are called "Black Prince" and they love them. I'm growing some now.
