@Sheila; The correct spelling of Clara's name is Thomson, without a p.

This was being shared last year under the study name "Angry Juno", but after discussion with Steve at HMF, it was decided that we would go ahead and name it for Clara, who - along with Steve - created HMF.

HMF lists Clara Thomson (no ”P”), Kim listed Clara ThomPson. I think that’s the discrepancy Sheila is referring to.

Another beautiful creation from Mr Barden. Has it been trialled in colder zones? (With that lineage, I imagine it's fairly iffy north of Zone 5b...)

@Ross No, it has not. But Lilian Austin offspring are generally hardy enough to satisfy the needs of most USDA Z5 growers: not cane hardy to the tips, but survives with canes intact below the snow line. I suspect this rose will perform similarly, but folks will have to find out for themselves.

That's a gorgeous rose - I hope someday I get to try it! So far, my Paul Barden roses are beloved Mel's Heritage, gorgeous Etienne and, coming this spring from Rogue what I HOPE will be the longed-for Umbra. Such beauties!
