It depends a lot on where the door is in a room this size. And the window

Show a floor plan with door & doorswing, window, closet plus measurements of all walls and openings.

You won't be able to get much more than a twin bed in a room that size. Do you need a bed in this space, or do you have another use for it in mind like a home office or maybe a quiet zone/reading room with some upholstered furniture?

Your idea book has day beds. Is that what you want?

As in hanging from the ceiling? My friend had one, it crashed to the floor, and she has been dealing with the spine injury for nearly a decade.

Would be helpful to see a floor plan. Even a simple sketch would do.

How is this for and what you want in it? Bed, what size, dresser, anything else. Is there a closet?

Who is going to sleep there? What will they do there besides sleep? What stuff needs to go in the room?

This was not an uncommon room size in row houses here. (The 7 foot width I mean, the length would vary, usually it was longer than 9) It would run parallel to the staircase and the hallway from the front of the house to the back . A single bed across the width of one end of the room works well. because a twin is 38" x 75" or an XL twin is 80", and you have 84"

A single bed along the length of the 9 feet really takes up too much room. It leaves you about 3-1/2 feet along side the bed. So a small desk or dresser could do double duty as a nightstand placed next to the head of the bed. But lengthwise it really eats up a lot of the space.

What do you want to use it for? I have used what were meant for bedroom spaces for many things even pantries . Post to scale plan showing windows,doorways where they lead all measurements clearly marked posted here in jpeg formt in a comment DO NOT start another post . That is how you get help and a lot more info too.

I live alone and work from home. I would most likely set this room up as a small office.

I might use it as a nursery if I had a newborn baby.

I might use it as a craft room if I were retired and no longer needed an office.

What type of space would solve the needs for your family?

Just leave it empty until you figure out what your needs are.

Or answer the questions to get help . We are working in the dark and I fin it kind of impossible without some help from you . The floor plan for and some claue as what you need.
