Alexander McQueen's Red Rose dress collection

The design house of the late Alexander McQueen lives on. This year they call it the Red Rose dress collection. Which it isn't. They took two pictures of roses and transferred them onto fabric. One is just a bloom. The other is a rose on a stem with some of the grottiest foliage ever seen outside of a big box store.

The late AMQ would have taken that idea and run wild with it.

I hate to be morbid, but the white dress with the red rose looks entirely too much like someone was shot and bled out...gross!

This looks like shein printed on polyester garbage , not an actual famous desigber . What a shame .

I like that the rose appears to be Fragrant Cloud, one of my all time favorites. Otherwise, I’m not seeing anything special.

What an absolute joke.

These look like something that should cost 10€ on Amazon. Except they're obviously asking for a ridiculous price.

Fig, you're not being morbid at all. The white dress is literally called "Bleeding Rose Sheath Dress" on the McQueen website. 2690€.

Hard pass.

Wow, I could get 100 grade 1 rosebushes for the price of that fugly dress! Makes Heirloom and Etsy roses seem like an unbelievable deal!

Blimey - the darts on the first picture! Production/Sewing skills lacking too.

Cheap looking...but I am a sewist and have really only bought vintage clothing for a long time (if not making my own). A lot of skills are going to the wall...fashion and couture parted ways some time ago.

Kinda OT: @rosaprimula You saw the details that I only registered as "cheap", lol. I couldn't put my finger on it. Seaside mentioned they look like something on Amazon. I'll go one better. They look like something on Temu, lol. I've always bought a few classic, quality clothes that might be expensive up front, but last forever, both in style and durability. I'm still wearing Donegal sweaters and tweed sports coats that are 30 years old that look brand new, and are just as "in fashion" as ever. Those dresses are more in line with the trend of what they call "fast fashion": here today, gone tomorrow. It's not only tacky, it's wasteful! I commend you for making your own and wearing vintage clothes. Have you tried Poshmark?

About the only thing I go through regularly and "fast" are my gardening tee shirts...and Band-aids, lol.
