Have only seen Slender Silhouette - very tight, narrow profile but typically excellent fall color.

Crimson Spire or Streetspire oaks develop a deep rusty red color in fall - CS holds its leaves: SS drops them cleanly.

I'd also consider Persian Spire parrotia - gorgeous fall color of gold, orange and red.

I've seen 'Happidaze' in a few arboretums and it's definitely not columnar at all: perhaps a little more slender than a typical Sweetgum, but it's pretty pyramidal if anything. I believe the main selling point of 'Happidaze' is that it doesn't produce fruit. If the very tightly columnar/fastigiate look is your thing, 'Slender Silhouette' would be the way to go if you're set on Liquidambar.

In addition to the other species GG mentioned, there are a number of columnar cultivars of Acer saccharum with nice fall color: 'Newton Sentry' and 'Monumentale' are two off the top of my head. A. saccharum is, of course, a bit more sensitive to things like road salt and drought, so that would be more dependent on your placement/local conditions.

Thanks. You are right that Happidaze isn’t columnar. How’s the fall colour though. I see the fall colour in Sweetgum is so variable. I have two in my yard and one goes purple and the other a dull yellow. In pictures- you sometime see sweetgums with fiery red or sometimes a kaleidoscope of different colours.

I almost got happidaze but decided not too. I did a deep dive on forums and even joined a small facebook page for people who grow Sweetgum’s. Happidaze colors were usually yellow and purple. I think a couple mentioned the central leader breaking at some point after a few years in the ground. Look into the firehouse sweetgum. I searched all over for one and could only find a ball and burlapped one near me in Philadelphia which was way too expensive. I ended up getting a nyssa afterburner instead.
