Need opinions about whether to keep vertical blinds

We are having the entryway painted universal khaki and the painters will be removing the blinds so it can be painted properly. This is the best opportunity to have the blinds stay down, if that's what we want. Truly unsure. Attached some photos. We have lived here since nov 2012 and I don't think we have shut them more than a few times. Does it add some depth to the wall? So confused!

Thanks all! And Margo- I DETEST the light fixtures! They are being switched out as we go room to room! This one is hard bc it's from the second story ceiling!

No blinds but especially no vertical blinds! Is sunlight coming in that window a problem? If so, then tint the window or use a bamboo or matchstick shade.

As an interior designer, I and most will tell you that vertical blinds are never considered an "aesthetic" improvement or have any aesthetic value...they are used primarily for functional / control reasons that they provide with vertical tilt and minimal stack back...I highly recommend to take them down!

If they're there for sun issues, then replace them with UV film. Will look better with no treatment.

Sayonara to the verticals. I had an 80's house with verticals throughout, and these same light fixtures in three sizes. All went in a yard sale.

It will be done. We are just completing a kitchen remodel that when I hired the painter I tacked on the whole main floor painting with it. I have the light as well as our dining light on my list. Suggestions?

I will make one comment that at least the verticals are cloth and not the cheap plastic or whatever it is

Is this a Lindal cedar house? Could be the sibling of the one I had. I recognize your dining room light, too.

No verticals in. The kitchen. They went for cheap $2 blinds forthekitchen window. But those cloth blinds are on every other window or door in the whole house. Even had pink ones in the pink master bathroom to match the pink wallpaper!

Lynn- They were in my house when I bought them too. First thing I did was take them down, open up the back door and sail them out on the deck for removal. It made me feel good!

Remove all vertical blinds; very dated. Have 2 story lighting fixture replaced when painting.
