Does it move when you walk on it? I suspect they didn’t do enough leveling.

Thank you for responding! Theres not very noticeable movement, but may be because it’s in the center of the floor so I can’t see movement near the baseboard. I suspect that is the issue because they did do some leveling but the spot that creaks had no leveling concrete. It’s the space circled in the photo attached that makes the loudest noise.

If the subfloor wasn’t leveled properly, I’m scared to ask what we have to do to rectify? We don’t have T strips in any nearby thresholds, so I’m scared they’ll basically have to redo half the floor. And wondering if they can reuse the flooring material/whether it will be ruined from unlocking/relocking.

We have had the experience twice of installing laminate floors and having some spots creak/crackle - one batch of laminate was very noisy in many spots and one batch was mostly quiet with a few slightly noisy areas. Both time we were told the laminate needs time to settle in, expand and contract a bit, get used to the environment as the seasons change. Both times we rolled our eyes but agreed to wait 6 months to see what happened. Both times the offending noises disappeared after a few months and have not come back. I hope this happens for you :-).
