What are the window widths

Which opening is which, to which adjacent space. Nobody wants to keep scrolling back to your text, and pictures. Re do with every dimension, walls, windows, stairs, where is the kitchen, etc add below, thank you

The large cased opening leads to the kitchen. The smaller cased opening leads to the foyer.

Celeste, the layouts shown are your only choices to allow people to walk through the space in the easiest, shortest, way possible. The only difference is what furniture is used to create the layout. There is only one location for the TV

@BeverlyFLADeziner my husband is fighting this position since it is across from the windows and he doesn't want to deal with glare or having to close the blinds/curtains everytime he wants to watch TV. I much prefer the layout you and simplynatural have presented. Just need to get him on board and find furniture that fits the space.

You mention that this is a “formal LR”; does this mean there is another space (such as a FR) that isn’t such a “thru-way” you could use for TV watching? (Tell hubby that adjusting some blinds occasionally is really not such a big deal😉….its why we have them.)

You can install either film on the glass or install a solar shade which will still allow the view without the glare.

I understand your husband's objection, but the layout trumps the issue of glare if the glare can be addressed easily. I ordered my solar shades in one room from HD and the other room from JCPenny. They were inexpensive. They are down ALL THE TIME not only dealing with glare but the heat load here in Florida. I can still easily see through to the outside.
