Agreed, its been a dreadful stretch. Wednesday morning it was 24.6F, somehow my leafing out Hydrangea macrophyllas are hanging in there, though, or at least they appear to be. This morning it was 26.2F, but it quickly became very nice, sunny all day long with a high of 51F! I took full advantage and laid 41 tumbled bluestone pavers.

Was 33F here this morning when I got up and never made higher than 45F, although it was wonderfully sunny all day.

I am not at all sure my collection of containerized plants moved from my old garden have made it through winter unscathed. That night a couple of weeks ago it hit 15F might have been too much for some of them. Most of the JM's look okay and one is even beginning to leaf out. And most of the clems look okay as well. The only hydrangea macrophylla that made the move is starting to leaf out but a much larger and more established oakleaf is showing no signs of life....yet. And a bunch of other stuff is questionable. All I can do is keep my fingers crossed and hope for warmer weather. I don't DO gardening when it is cold and wet. Too old for that nonsense!!

Well after whining it did warm up enough for me to get out. Still only abut 43, but very little wind, which really helps.

I moved a deciduous azalea, which allowed me to move one of the roses and give them better spacing. Along with general garden clean up. Felt to good to get out and get moving. This morning I stepped out on the porch and while it's only 34 and cloudy, you can really smell the soil waking up. Feels like spring is just around the corner.

@artinnaturez8b That's quite a few stones. Are they heavy? Any photos worth sharing?

Last three nights at the house it has been 25-26-28 and below freezing by midnight.

Logician - Yep. I planted two herbaceous perennials on February 24 and I've been covering them each night and uncovering each morning since then. I'll never learn...and I wouldn't have it any other way.
