Unless its space you need inside the house, definitely open it back up. It will bring back what your house is supposed to look like, and an outside porch like you would have is a wonderful place to sit, and enjoy life.

We need more info a floor plan would be good too and some pics of the porch. I find usually the entry into the house was directly into living space and so the enclosed porch became the entry . We need more info.

If you don't open it up, change the bay window to something else. But the foursquare is meant to have a front porch. These are larger, but you get the idea.

I would not open it back up. I'm more about functionality over looks. It's a great place for shoes and coats which could open up more space inside. I do love the version Hallett posted with windows, though.

I think opening it up or revising to look like pictures above depending on your needs. It is pretty bad the way it is right now so a little love will go a long way.

Unless you absolutely have to have the square footage inside I'd absolutely turn it back into a real asset for the house. Porches like that make wonderful outdoor living space for at least somepart of the year; make sure you give it a couple comfy chairs and a small table. A nice porch provides both functionality and looks.
