The search function on this forum sucks. If I'm searching something plant- or garden-related, I go in the backdoor through the old gardenweb site, that makes a big difference in gardening search results.

It's a GardenWeb forum, and the only way you can search for something in it effectively is to go to GardenWeb.

I have no issues with the GW search function. You just need to know the best way to achieve it successfully :-). And this only works if you are on the GardenWeb platform. All bets are off with Houzz.

• You must select and be in the forum you want to search.
• In the search bar at the top of the page, type in your key word.
• A variety of search options will show up (Discussions, Photos, etc.) but only click on the search option for your intended forum. All relevant posts will be listed.

The Chrome browser actually was screwing it up since it always kept redirecting to Houzz even when I clicked the link above. I had to search for gardenweb and make a direct link that way

I don't know how you all are using the old gardenweb site. Whenever I click on the links provided here, or even paste them into a browser, any browser, it all just redirects to Houzz...

If I want to search for something in these forums I use google. I enter what search terms I am using and include "gardenweb vegetable forum" or whatever forum I am intending to search. Works 95% of the time. And if you include a username it gives even better results.

That's all I ever use. I never venture into Houzz as that platform is messed up !! But I also never sign out either (been signed into GW since the late 90's).

I can get in and search on the GW site, but if I want to post something it reverts to H**z.

i tried all the sites you put in a thread, Alsway It went back to Houzz.
