Hi, I'm building a custom hood cover for an insert and looking for recommendations for the insert. Initially, I was looking into Viking Professional 36" because my old Viking Professional hood lasted for nearly 17 years. I spoke to three appliance stores and they are all recommending Zephyr Monsoon II. Zephyr Monsoon looks great on paper - a little too good. It has 1200CFM as Viking Professional and a more powerful motor. Yet, it is $1700, a whooping $1000 less than Viking Professional. Zephyr's 1700 includes the motor. Viking Professional, which goes for $1400, needs a separate motor for an additional $1300. Sometimes when a deal is too good to be true, it is not true. Anyone has experience with Zephyr Monsoon II? I'm looking got a powerful hood and if possible, a quiet one.
