Alside Odyssey Help

We are siding our home using the Alside Odyssey line. We have a very bossy stone on the front of our home, which makes it difficult to choose a color. Please help!

Bring home samples to compare with the stone. No one can tell from pictures of siding colors compared to pictures of a house. I would change the white paint to match the siding color you choose. The front door would look nice in a color in the same family as the peach in the stone.

Consider getting rid of the stonewhen you get your samples.

I honestly would not. It would be cost prohibitive to replace with actual stone and I would not replace with imitation or stone siding.

You can use Limewash to recolor the stone.

    Hard to say

Several of these could go - but you need to see actual samples.

Definitely do! Contractor coming this week. Hoping I’m going in a good direction looking towards tan thank you.

I love your bossy stone. IMO, your garage door is the bossy one. Paint it the same color as the siding or a color to make it blend into the stone. Tans are the way to go. What you have now is great. The area around the door has opportunities that paint can enhance but not sure what without seeing a more direct view of it. Perhaps paint the siding around the door the color of the siding and then make the door a color that will pop. Not sure. I love the lines of your entire house! I imagine it has a very nice interior feel just judging from the placement of the windows on the top floor. Light from two sides in a room creates a wonder feel.

I like the siding and stone combo. The stark white front entry and garage door can be changed to improve the look. Do you have to replace the siding, or are you just not happy with how the house looks? It’s a great house.🙂

We have cedar shingles and it’s the maintenance that makes us want to do siding. Last paint job started showing wear after 3-4 years on the weather side of the house. Thanks for advice about the garage door. It’s definitely getting repainting (along with front door) when we side. Was thinking of doing white board and batten where the front door is as it is white vertical wood there now and I like the look on my house. Also getting a single panel storm door so you see more of the entry door.

Here is a more direct view of the front door area.

The stone is one of the best features of the house. I can’t imagine replacing cedar shakes with synthetic but that’s just me. How are they going to handle the corners with the synthetic siding?

Typically I completely agree with you, but I am not interested in painting every 5 years! We live in the northeast and the shingles have taken a beating every winter. Open on the corners. A couple contractors have suggested white trim on corners. We could obviously also trim with the same color as siding. I am not honestly sure which I prefer.

Not sure which side is the weather side, but is it possible to replace only that side with a synthetic material that has the same look of your cedar? Just a suggestion, might not look good or be possible. Your front door is classic to the style of the home. Glad you are going to a storm door that will showcase your door. IMO, the white siding would not enhance the overall look, let the door pop. As suggested above, try to pick up on that rosy peach color in the stone. Interesting that there is that small bit of B&B beside the door. I wonder why cedar wasn't used there also. Who knows? If you like the B&B by the door do it but I"d paint it the color of the siding.

Understood about the siding!🙂 The front entry might look better a darker color than the house with horizontal lines instead of boxes and vertical lines.

I think more of a beige vs the cream color you have now would look nice. Even a nice sage green! I agree with painting the garage door but I wouldn't do that until after the siding is done.

I actually wish you had more of that stone.
