Your furniture is so traditional, be careful about going too modern with the light fixtures. I think you could stand to change up the sconces, but I think what Beverly showed is too modern. You could choose something black to match the fixture you're putting in the kitchen. Or really splash out with something unique and bedazzled.

--Keep the gold chandelier since it relates to your very traditional style. Use the money you save to get a new rug in golds, greens to echo your art work if you're keeping it. This palette is perfect for your wall paint, art work, warm wood dining pieces, and current flooring, which you shouldn't change.

--Why are you replacing the beautiful floors? You have traditional furnishings. The sideboard harmonizes well with the current floors.

--Remove the wing chairs from the space--just too much unless they're temporarily placed there.

I don't think the tapestry over the sideboard works in this room. Consider a mirror over the sideboard if a mirror doesn't cause too much glare in the room.

The drapery panels to bring out the tan/gold of the area rug.

More traditional chandelier s would be better.

We are putting new flooring in the entire downstairs. The Brazilian cherry will not work in the kitchen because we have cherry cabinets which I do not want to paint- and that will be just way too much cherry!

Is that a tapestry over sideboard? I couldn't get a good look. If you're keeping it, then echo the palette with a rug. If not, then try a new art work in golds and warm wood or a gold framed mirror that reflects light from the window across from that wall and your gold chandelier.

Wood floor in the kitchen only works for some home owners. For many it's a water accident waiting to happen.

We are replacing floors with grande petronas by Coretec which is waterproof! It is going in dining room, den, foyer, powder room, kitchen and family room.
