This one isn't arched, but you can see the gold has nice contrast with the table. Make sure it isn't oversized for your console. If it's returnable there's no reason not to try it. You also have too many things on your console. Remove two of the larger items and substitute something smaller or nothing at all.

Are you thinking about hanging an arched mirror to echo the arched doorway? Take some brown paper and cut out a template with the dimensions you’re considering to see whether the double arched effect works. Before you do that, reconsider your decor. You have an ornate, European-style table with dark wood, and the light, country-style candlesticks and bird cage (?) are fighting with it. Besides the lamp and candlesticks on the table, more are reflected in the mirror, creating a busy, chaotic effect. Simplify. Please don’t paint the table— lean into the ornate style, don’t fight it. If you go for a gold mirror, make sure it isn’t too shiny. Think old English country house, not new McMansion.

If you use a lamp, you don't add candlesticks to the console also. I think the mirror and table are fine, but the top is overloaded with stuff.

What is the style of the rest of your home? is it traditional dark woods…are you trying to lighten up your home wanting to paint this console?

You could move into a more french style…

What you already have seems to work well. However we might suggest removing a few pieces on the console table and also look at replacing the lamp with a white and gold lamp. Here are just a few of the console tables we have decorated for clients.

I wouldn’t paint the table. The mirror above the table is fairly dark and heavy and a gold frame would lighten the look up considerably. As other people have commented the table seems crowded.

The light colors of the decor on the table seem jarring with the table and mirror frame. Less is much more elegant here, I’d use a brass/ gold finish lamp and a tray with gold accents.
