Maybe a dark or medium gray or blue instead of black? Black is very severe. It seems like a very specific taste that wouldn't be widely appreciated. White garage doors against a very dark color isn't appealing to me either. But if you're going to be in your house a long time and this is your dream, no reason not to do it. :-) Here are some other ideas:

The black with the white is really pretty. I would make the moldings thicker, especially around the garage doors - they are too thin.

The wood stained garage doors would be beautiful - I would also wrap the posts so they have a little more presence.

Or you could the doors in white

Note the nice trim and lights.

I would remove that front porch, but I would replace it with some nice stone work and maker it come out from the house more and at the end of it do a nice rain garden for that downspout

I would not highlight the window trim.

Wind ..blowing dust onto black..would be a deterrent to me..never mind the lifeless surroundings seasonally…

Most of the attractive examples have a lot more architectural detail to favorably effect the black exteriors

In any case using wood trim to tie into decks and garage would be a nice choice to add to the flow of a long low home..as well as a stone border around the driveway area

Black seems so severe. It will be off the good idea list soon and be on the what were we thinking list. My preference is to blend with the surroundings more. Maybe a greenish charcoal ish color. Remember black and dark colors absorb heat from the sun, your home will need more energy to cool in warmer weather.

Posting a picture from much further away showing a larger setting may evoke more response as well…are there any neighbors in view?

Do be aware that black may show dirt and water spots much more than other dark colors might. That has been my experience with my house which is a dark blue gray with black windows and a two sided black wall to the left of the door. Keeping the black siding looking good is not easy, though I do like the look of it.

I went ahead ahead and painted a few walls. I already love it!

Glad you love it! Please post pics. BTW, wondering about your comment about new deck, no railings. I think I see a raised deck that would not be safe without railings.
