I've purchased an LED task lamp (link below) from Restoration Hardware twice now. The first broke when it was on and I put a pile of freshly dried blankets on the chair next to it — I watched static electricity jump to the lamp, and it never turned on again.

The second lamp broke when I crossed the room, over the carpet, and shocked it when I tried to turn it off. (It had a touch on/off switch.)

Look, I like this lamp. I have paid a lot of money for these lamps. All of you electricians or electrical savvy people out there, can this be fixed? Who even do I take it to? Many thanks in advance for your input.
