It is sad to say but it looks like you have more than one issue. Some of those leaves are very funky especially the bottom left. If it were me I would toss it. So other possible bug problems don't really matter at this point. I would check your other plants for spider mites.

I agree with peren. The funky leaves would lead me to believe HVX. Leaves also look burned and possible nematodes present. I would toss it.

I think that would be a good idea. I just hope you get a good response, not every place or online seller will take responsibility. On the other hand they might be receptive and want to know and take measures. Please let us know how it goes.

I would report it to the vendor. They should know and they should replace it for you. If they are reputable, they should work with you.

My first reaction was sun scald but as I looked more closely I came to the HVX conclusion. I would be delighted to be wrong.

No different treatment. All of them in a tub that I moved in and out of the garage on frosty nights. North side of house. Here are the others.

I did study the HL pictures of hostas with HXV for quite awhile before agreeing with peren. I think there is mottling on many of the leaves, most notably at 1, 5 and 7 o’clock. I also would be happy to be wrong. I think if you don’t want to toss it, keep it in a pot away from the other hostas just to make sure you don’t accidentally prune it before sanitizing the pruners and see how it does. I will be interested to know how it it develops.

It's in a pot. As long as you don't transfer any "germs" to another pot, you are free to wait and see. I still don't think it's HVX, as I don't see any "inkbleed".

However, it doesn't hurt to be cautious.

That's not unusual early in the season. Frost damage or sun scorch or both.
