Yes, I use it but there are different strains. I have not used strain for cutworms. I use BT Israelensis for mosquito control. Make sure you find one that used specifically for cutworms and follow instructions. Also remember that less is more and it is biological product, you will not see dead cutworms laying around just with time you will see decreased population. They also have Nematodes to help.

I have used BT successfully on tomato plants. Kills those little greenie worms, eggs are laid on the leaves.

Cutworms are in the soil, so I use Sluggo-Plus pellets scattered around. Those work very well for me. I guess.... haven't seen cutworm in my pots for years. Used to be fun to scrape the top inch around the plants to find a big 1" long ugly cutworm. Squish gotcha!

I could only find the BT in a spray and no sluggo plus. Do I spray the BT around or on the base of the leaves, or around the surrounding soil?

It needs to be ingested, so on the leaves.

Bt can also affect butterfly larva so be careful where you spray. I have used it in the past. Once on Sawfly larva - which it isn't effective against - before I knew what it was.

There is no Sluggo Plus in my area either, so I just ordered it from Amazon.

I've never used BT because of what I've heard it can also do to butterfly caterpillars and I have a butterfly garden near to my hosta beds.

I also had a cutworm problem last year and am trying sluggo plus this year. No local carriers here either so ordered on line from Home Depot. I haven't looked into the other effects of sluggo plus yet and not sure if it is any better than BT. There must be a reason we can't find it locally, even at garden centers.
