Light wood for sure, to compliment the floors.

If you are planning on installing gas logs, I suggest you consider the all new Lava Series Gas Logs. They are the only gas logs on the market that actually have burners inside the logs, so the flames come out of the logs like real wood. They are the most realistic gas logs I've ever seen.

Also, with gas logs you must prop your damper open permanently, so adding Custom Glass Doors will stop the cold air from coming into your home during the winter.
