Montana's state champ Ponderosa pine. Almost 200 ft and 6 ft in diameter.

And yes, that's a person standing there.

It has plenty to come down too ... at least 200 ft away from the house ... magnificent tree of course!

'Big Sky Country' with many Big Trees. ;-)

We were fortunate enough to do some horseback riding through parts of Rocky Mountain national park. Vast stands of P. ponderosa var. scopulorum made you feel like you were riding through some sort of huge cathedral. The bark has a somewhat 'Vanilla' fragrance, but you have to get your nose right up to the trunk for it to be apparent.
