I would cut only what I’d really want to bring inside, the cool wet weather will help the blooms. I am really counting on that, since I will be hosting Mother’s Day at my house!

Thank you! I picked many based on what the members of thus forum have suggested. Here’s what I have in the front yard: Savannah Sunbelt, Pretty In Pink Eden, 3 Olivia Rose Austins, 3 Leonardo Da Vinci, Earth Angel, Perfume Factory, Stephen’s Big Purple, 2 Alexandra of Kents, 2 Raspberry Cupcakes, Zephrine Druhine, PJP2, Bolero, Life of the Party, Marc Chagall, Bonica, and Morden Blush. 😅

So beautiful! Stunning rose garden. Love love love it. Like others have said, personally, I'd cut what I'd like to have inside or as gifts - shaping the bush as I go. It's good to 'see' what will happen to each plant's blooms. There are some of my roses which ball up horribly in the rain, and some just don't. After seeing that... I'm sure to cut the blooms from the bushes that don't like the rain. Then i know I can leave the rest for another day. Even a rainy day in my garden is a good day!

No long octopus canes on my DA roses. I do get those on my Earth Angel & Leo Da Vinci. I have aphids galore! And slugs are a problem too. Most of my roses have all been decent when it comes to disease. I get powdery mildew on the AOK David Austin Rose. The Pretty In Pink Eden had some blackspot during the winter…mostly cleared up now. The worst one is Zephrine Drouhin…she gets blackspot & powdery mildew. I’ll give her a couple more years to shape up; if she doesnt, I’ll be getting rid if her.

Your garden is gorgeous! Wonderful job on the design.

We are getting cold drenching rains for the next several days, so I put umbrellas up over the roses that are about to bloom, and constructed a little temporary greenhouse over some smaller roses.
