im looking for guidance on creating a Modern Backdrop privacy fence under my deck that will be next to a fire-pit patio (where we removed an above ground pool)

ive seen possibly cedar slats, thin and slightly gapped but not sure whats best to use? can anyone help. im in Western Pennsylvania.
