help with backsplash!

last year

Looking for some feedback on backsplash. I have Taj Mahal countertops and white cabinets. Leaning toward a glass subway - ivory.

It looks good on my monito although the tile doesn't look ivory to me..

Thanks! Me either, but that’s what it’s called from floor and decor, ivory glass mosaic.

Thank you, any suggestions with how to test it, without putting it on the wall? I planned on using a Snow White grout.

You'll get abetter idea of what it might look installed if you can see a grouted sample board. Local independent tile stores tend to have grouted sample boards you can borrow and test at home for a day or two.

    Thank you, I’ll try that

How do you think zellige oak ceramic subway would look?

I have Taj mahal on island, but I thought the backsplash I used looks good with it. I used celine tile from Bedrosian. Here is a pic: .>This has just been laid and have not been grouted yet.

Looks very pretty! We went with the zellige tiles, it goes in next week.

LM - are you installing zellige OAT ceramic tiles OR did you purchase zellige OAK ceramic tiles (just wondering if it’s a typo in your comment). Your original glass tiles were from F&D - and they have zellige oat ceramic tiles - just wondering. I couldn’t picture in my mind what zellige oak would look like - so, I googled it - and found zellige oat ceramic tiles at F&D.

It was a typo! It’s the oat.

It hasn’t went in you. That was just me playing with a box to see the layout. My installer knows to pull from several boxes since they are all different.

LM - the tiles look nice installed! The photo you posted of the tiles laying flat on top of the countertop made them look like there was a little peach tinge in some of the tiles (on my iPad). They appear to work with the color of your Taj countertops - just another example of how screens don’t accurately reflect colors (plus, tiles will look different vertically than when sitting horizontally on a countertop).

I am a little surprised about how the backsplash goes past the cabinets/countertops on the left side of your range. It is a little bit odd - I wonder if the tile could be cut back + an end piece (trim) used?

I would have been tempted to tile the entire wall (around the large windows) all the way to your second island. Although, I imagine that would basically double the SF of tile needed for your kitchen! It’s always easier to spend someone else’s $$ 😂

I should be starting my kitchen renovation by the end of July - CANNOT WAIT!

Congrats on your new kitchen! Looks nice!

There is a gold schulter where the tile ends. Yes, we thought about doing the entire wall around the window, but I like having actual wall space. Came down to preference. That’s exciting! Have fun with it!

Hi, what grout did you use and what size grout lines?

What color grout did you use with the Zellige oat tiles? Also, what did you use on the edges? My contractor is recommending pencil tiles, but I can't find anything that I like. I am considering just putting grout on the edges. Any recommendations?

L M, would love to know what color grout you used with your Zellige Oat.
