Focus on what gives you the biggest visual change with the least effort.

Paint is your best tool. The wrong color makes everything feel off. Go with a warm, soft white or neutral taupe — not too bright, not cold. It makes the house feel clean and current without drawing attention to every detail.

The trim shouldn't stand out unless it's doing something useful. If you want a modern look, go dark (black or deep bronze). If you want everything to blend and calm down visually, go same tone as the walls.

That small window — stop worrying about it. Paint it the same as the trim and let it fade into the design. Don’t try to "fix" it — make it disappear.

You don’t need landscaping or big changes right now. Fix the color, simplify the lines, and the house will already feel more put-together and modern. That’s how you get out of the design spiral when your energy’s gone.
